Re-thinking 1B in fantasy baseball leagues
My latest links post is up on Sporting News Fantasy Source. Here’s a snippet:
We’re probably a long way from 1988, when the immortal Gerald Perry stole 29 bases as the Braves’ everyday first baseman, while Von Hayes stole 20 bags while starting 82 games at first for the Phillies. However, it’s clear that there are several five-category first basemen now, and rolling with a three-category player is riskier than it’s been in a long time, because those players simply aren’t that much better at those three categories than the five-category monsters.
